Project Overview

Lighthouse Community Public Charter Schools undertook a three-phase improvement project at the Lighthouse High School campus in Oakland to expand instructional capacity and optimize existing space within the southwestern wing of the facility. Delivered across the summers of 2024, 2025, and 2026, the project is focused on strategically adding new learning environments and reconfiguring underutilized interior areas while minimizing disruption to school operations.

Phase II introduced new modular classroom space within the lobby area of the southwestern wing, creating approximately 669 square feet of instructional space along with an additional 267 square feet dedicated to two breakout and/or administrative rooms. The work transformed an underutilized portion of the campus into functional academic space that supports flexible instruction and small group learning. Construction was completed during the summer of 2025 to ensure the upgraded facilities were ready for students and staff at the start of the school year.

Across all phases, the project scope included electrical and lighting systems, fire life safety improvements, HVAC upgrades, flooring, and interior finishes. Designed by LCA Architects and constructed by Bjork Construction, the improvements provide Lighthouse High School with flexible, modernized spaces that support its mission to serve approximately 400 students with a high-quality educational environment.
